Experience Tuscany-Live Like a Local for a Week

A Toast to Travel is a celebration of life through Wine, Culture, Food and Fun.  We are more than a travel company; we help create memories of a lifetime for all our guests.  We have designed our Experiences based on our years of travelling and living overseas, and living like locals.  We believe that to get the most out of an experience, you need to immerse yourself in the culture and actually interact and share experiences with the locals.  This concept is our guiding principle when designing our Experiences.  While hosting you on one of our Experiences, we travel with you to some of the most stunning wineries not easily found by tourists, eat at enotecas and restaurants where the locals eat, cook with resident local chefs, pursue truffles, share secret typical Tuscan recipes with you and visit cultural sites led by local, native guides.  We are fluent in the local language, know the locals, the wineries, the restaurants, the barkeepers and are part of the family.  We live our life by the guiding principle of living each day to the fullest and celebrating life.  We welcome you to explore our Tuscan Wine and Culture (6 night/7 day and 3 night/4 day Getaway) and our Cooking Under the Tuscan Sun Experiences.  Our Experiences are like no other; each carefully curated exclusively for you.  Just remember, you may leave Tuscany but Tuscany will never leave you.  Once you’ve experienced Tuscany, you will never forget La Dolce Vita.  Besides, after having lived like a local for the week, you are now part of the family

Our Tuscan Wine and Culture Experience is designed for the lover of wine, food and culture.  Our Experience is based in Florence, Italy arguably one of the beautiful cities in the world, known as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.   Our luxurious accommodation in the center of Florence is a five star luxury hotel situated in a XV century building and is known for impeccable service.  We are surrounded by art, outdoor cafes, great restaurants and museums. Each day, we host you in our exclusively designed experiences beginning with our welcome dinner where you will enjoy some of the most delicious Tuscan wine and one of the best Bistecca alla Fiorentina in town.  We will take you on a trip to one of the most stunning wineries in Chianti not easily found by tourists, travelling through beautiful rolling hills and slopes, dotted with vineyards and olive groves.  The menu we’ve designed is locally sourced with only the freshest of produce, tomatoes, mushrooms, olive oil and Tuscan meats and cheeses, all of course with wine produced onsite at the winery.  We will take you on a tour of Florence with a local guide and visit main squares and sites, Signoria, Duomo with Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio and the Pitti Palace completed by a wine pairing at an Enoteca in the heart of Florence where we savor flavors and scents of cured meats, Tuscan cheese and of course, Tuscan wine.  We will take you (in a Mercedes) to another award winning winery with a castle that dates back to the 1400s where Leonardo da Vinci painted his masterpiece, the Mona Lisa where we will have the opportunity to visit the gardens and the castle and learn about the history of the winery.  We will experience a wine tasting like no other.  We will dine together at an authentic Tuscan banquet.  We will take you with our local guide to visit the Uffizi and the Accademia Galleries.  The Uffizi houses one of the most important collections of Italian Renaissance Art.  For those interested, we can also arrange a traditional Tuscan cooking class (with wine, of course). Each day of our Tuscan Wine and Culture Experience is filled with experiences that the locals enjoy from the menus we’ve created to the wineries we visit; we want you to live Florence and Chianti like a local.  We’ve partnered with local guides to introduce you to the history, art and culture of Florence and as your hosts, we will entice you with the best wine and food that you will ever drink or eat.  During your free time, you can stroll along the Arno river and visit local shops, explore the cobbled streets of Florence, shop at local markets, sip an espresso at a local café or have an apertivo at an outdoor terrace with other locals.

Pasta making in Tuscany Experience

Our Cooking Under the Tuscan Sun Experience is designed for the lover of cooking, wine, leisure activities and culture.  Our Experience is based in the Tuscan countryside in a restored Tuscan villa with private rooms and apartments full of tradition and history surrounded by olive trees, rolling hills and the vineyards of Tuscany.  Cooking each day, our resident chef guides us through hands-on cooking classes like no other.  Each day we make different pastas and a different mouthwatering sauce.  From pappardelle to gnocchi, from Bolognese to Truffle sauce, your pasta will never be dry or boring!  We also learn how to make other dishes you can share at home–the Stufato di Vitello (Veal Stew) is a must try!  Oh, and don’t miss our Pizza making class with a local personality who will guide us through the art of authentic pizza making.  Your toppings will be jealous of each other.  But, your meals at home would never be complete without authentic desserts.  Try your hand at SemiFreddo and Italian butter cookies.  Eat them all or share some, it’s up to you.  We’ve created a Cooking Experience for you like no other—but there’s a catch!  We want you to live Tuscany just like a local would.  So, we’ve also organized a trip to the local market so you can experience how locals shop for fruit, vegetables and meats, a morning truffle hunt, a trip to a breathtaking winery for a tour and wine tasting followed by an evening dinner together, a day trip to Siena where we’ve hired a local guide to show us around, an outdoor yoga class at our host Villa taught by a local instructor and a painting class on the terrace at our host Villa overlooking the beautiful Tuscan landscape for inspiration.   We shop where the locals shop, dine where the locals dine, attend wine tastings at a local Castle and we spend a day in Siena, one of the most famous places to visit in Tuscany, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  During your free time, you can lounge by the pool, walk the Villa’s Italian gardens, play tennis onsite, visit the underground wine cellar, take a hike, and learn about the tools farmers used to use in the Villa’s own Museum or just laze around Under the Tuscan Sun.

Are you ready to cook and learn the locals’ secret recipes?  Are you ready to spend your week fully immersed in living like a local in Tuscany?  Your Cooking Under the Tuscan Sun Experience awaits you!  Roll up your sleeves and join us—after all, that’s what living like a local is all about!  Click here to explore each day of the Cooking Under the Tuscan Sun Experience.
